To support our growth path, we want to expand our Sustainability team with a:Senior Sustainability Advisor | full timeLocation: Amsterdam / Stanlow (UK)About the jobThe Senior Sustainability Advisor is responsible for leading and advising the company-wide strategy on sustainability. This includes defining, designing and monitoring Argent Energy’s Sustainability Agenda, with activities ranging from overseeing the ESG framework, supporting corporate (investment) development projects and engaging in industry wide projects. The focus of the role is to advise the Group strategically on sustainability matters and execute value adding projects. This is a diverse role for an experienced leader in sustainability.The Group Sustainability Manager initiates various activities contributing to Argent Energy’s business performance and reputation within the sustainability domain.Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesFormulate the longer term strategy for sustainability in the Company whilst ensuring alignment to the overall business strategy. To assess the organisations current sustainability performance and identify and prioritise Argent Energy’s (AE) key sustainability initiatives; Balance and align strategies with short and long-term John Swire & Sons Group sustainability targets via the Swire Thrive programme; Support and advise ongoing (corporate) development projects from a Sustainability perspective.Initiate and implement the organisation’s road map to reduce its operational carbon footprint whilst harnessing increased business performance.Lead sustainability related internal and external projects that enhance or protect value to the organisation longer term.Pro-active engage with all stakeholders across the business, including key stakeholders, NEA, ISCC and other sustainability bodies and positively influence stakeholders to align to strategic objectives of AE.Formulate action plans with defined objectives and targets (energy and carbon management, waste and recycling, procurement, transport and other key areas)Overseeing the timely production of sustainability reports as appropriate to various stakeholders; Maintain awareness of and communicate current legislation and future developments, and ensure that AE is compliant with all relevant legislation and certification requirements, including EU-ETS and U-ETS/ SDE+ and guarantee the groupwide continuation of sustainability certifications (PDCA-cycle); Represent AE inthe appropriate third party (non-profit) organizations, certification schemes, industry groups and governments to promote the sustainability agenda and reputation; Give (un)solicited advice regarding compliance, appropriate internal controls and measurement systems to ensure compliance in sustainability efforts; Identify and implement sustainability subsidies (Netherlands & UK focussed) that can be granted to AE in relation to existing and new projects.he DepartmentThere is an existing Sustainability Team in Argent is responsible for the day-to-day sustainability documentation and audits. The team consists of 3 Sustainability Analysts reporting into the Team Lead Sustainability. Both the Team Lead Sustainability and Senior Sustainability Advisor report into a member of the Executive Committee.
